FAUN acquires PB Environnement

The FAUN Group has acquired French manufacturer Provence Bennes (PB) Environnement to strengthen its market position.

Osterholz-Scharmbeck/Valence. At the end of July, the Faun Group - which is active in markets all over the world - acquired French manufacturer PB Environnement from Lambesc in southern France. The acquisition will add a range of small and lightweight aluminium-bodied waste disposal vehicles, as well as compact road cleaners, to the FAUN product portfolio. The move will strengthen the body manufacturer's market position and expand its international service network.

The acquisition was made via FAUN Environnement, a wholly owned FAUN subsidiary based in Guilhérand-Granges, France. With a team of 300 employees and a turnover of 55 million euros in 2015, the company is the second-largest production plant in the FAUN Group. Originally founded in 1922 under the name Granges SA, the company now employs 350 people and has set its sights on achieving a turnover of 65 million euros. Etienne Blaise, Managing Director at FAUN Environnement, comments on the acquisition: "I'm pleased that the shareholders of PB Environnement have decided to entrust the future of their company to FAUN. The acquisition allows FAUN to add high-quality vehicles to its portfolio, and to benefit from synergy effects. Both companies have an established foothold in their local markets and enjoy an excellent reputation in their home countries. For this reason, we plan to retain the PB Environnement name".

The FAUN Group is part of the global KIRCHHOFF Group, which employs approximately 10,500 people in 49 plants across 17 countries.
