Thank you for visiting our website. Below we would like to inform you of how we handle your data pursuant to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Responsible party

The party responsible for data collection and data processing as described in the following text is named in the Legal Notice.

Saving the IP address

We save the IP address transmitted by your web browser strictly for the identified purpose for a period of seven days in order to recognise, restrict and eliminate attacks on our websites. Once this period has elapsed, we delete or anonymise the IP address.  The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1)(1f) GDPR.

Usage data

When you visit our website, temporary data, known as usage data, are stored in the form of a log for statistical purposes on our web server, in order to improve the quality of our web pages. This data record consists of

  • the webpage from which the file was requested,
  • the name of the file,
  • the date and time of the query,
  • the amount of data transmitted,
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found),
  • a description of the type of web browser used,
  • the IP address of the computer from which the query is made, which is shortened in such a way that no reference to a person can be identified.

The cited protocol data are only stored on an anonymised basis.

Data transfers to third parties

We transfer your data within the scope of order processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR to third parties who support us in operating our websites and the associated processes. Our service providers are strictly bound to our instructions and contractually obliged. We use the following services: CBXNET combox internet GmbH, Google Analytics, CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, concludis GmbH, Wistia.

Data transfers to third parties

We sometimes transfer personal data to a third country outside the EU. We take care to provide an appropriate level of data protection:

In the case of Google Analytics (USA) and Wistia Inc. (USA), an appropriate level of data protection follows from the corresponding participation in the Privacy Shield Agreement (Article 45 (1) GDPR).

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small data files which are stored on your device and which can be read. A distinction is made between session cookies which are deleted as soon as you close your browser and permanent cookies which are stored for longer than the individual session. Cookies may contain data which make it possible to recognise the device which has been used. On occasion, cookies only contain information on certain settings which cannot be linked to individuals.

We use session cookies and permanent cookies on our website. Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(1f) GDPR and in the interest of optimising and facilitating the user experience and adapting the presentation of our website.

You can also delete cookies using the corresponding browser setting at all times and prevent new cookies being placed on your computer. Google Analytics

In order to design our website to meet the needs of users, we create user profiles under a pseudonym with the help of Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are stored on your device and which can be read by us. This allows us to recognise returning visitors and to quantify them. Data processing takes place with your permission which you grant us by means of the cookie banner and on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(1f) GDPR as well as Section 15 (3) TMG (German Telemedia Act) and for the purpose of learning how frequently our website is accessed by different users.

The information on your usage of this website created by the cookie is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. As we have activated IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will however first be shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA (an appropriate level of data protection is available pursuant to Art. 45 (1) GDPR as a result of Google’s participation in Privacy Shield and shortened there. We have also concluded a contract for order processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with Google Inc. (USA), CBXNET combox internet GmbH, CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, concludis GmbH. Accordingly, Google will use all information strictly for this specific purpose to evaluate the use of our website for us and to compile reports on the website activities.

Data security

In order to protect your data against unwanted access as comprehensively as possible, we take technical and organisational measures. We use encryption procedures on our webpages. Your rights as a user

When processing your personal data, GDPR affords you certain rights as a website user:

  1. Right of information (Art. 15 GDPR):

You have the right to ask for confirmation of whether or not personal data affecting you is being processed; if this is the case, you have the right to information about this personal data and to the information listed in Art. 15 GDPR.

  1. Right to correction and deletion (Art. 16 and 17 GDPR):

You have the right to immediately request the correction of incorrect personal data concerning you and, if necessary, the completion of incomplete personal data.

You also have the right to demand that personal data relating to you be deleted immediately, provided one of the reasons listed in Article 17 GDPR is met, e.g. for example, when the data is no longer needed for the purposes pursued.

  1. Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR):

You have the right to demand the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 GDPR is met, e.g. for example, if you objected to processing for the duration of any examination.

  1. Right to data transfer (Art. 20 GDPR):

In certain cases, which are listed in detail in Art. 20 GDPR, you have the right to receive your personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transmission of this data to a third party.

  1. Right of objection (Art. 21 GDPR):

If data is gathered pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(1f) (data processing for the protection of legitimate interests), you have the right to object to processing at any point which arises from your specific situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are evidently compelling legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing is for the purpose of enforcing, pursuing or defending legal claims.

  1. Right of appeal to a supervisory authority

Pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge an appeal with a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that processing the relevant data contravenes data protection regulations. In particular, the right of appeal may be invoked by a supervisory authority in the Member State of your place of residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Newsletter

We offer you the option of subscribing to our newsletter on our website. If you have given us separate consent to inform you by email about our own products and services, processing will be carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1) (1a) GDPR. However, this is also only permitted if consent has been granted. You can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the legality of any processing which has previously taken place. If consent is withdrawn we will process data accordingly.

You have the option of getting in touch with us via a web form. To use our contact form, we require your name and email address. You can provide us with further information but you are not obliged to do this.

By sending this email form you declare that you are in agreement for us to gather and store data you have provided. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1)(1a) GDPR. We will use your data in order to process your request. Your consent can be withdrawn at any point, e.g. by email to datenschutz@FAUN.com.

Embedded videos

YouTube

We embed YouTube videos on our website on some sub-pages. Downloading these sub-pages will mean that YouTube content is loaded. In this context, YouTube will also receive your IP address which is required to load the content from a technical perspective. We have no influence over how YouTube subsequently processes this. Nonetheless, when embedding the videos, we have ensured that we activate the data protection mode offered by YouTube. We do not save any data. We offer the video for illustrative purposes of our company; the legal basis of data processing is Article 6 (1)(1f) GDPR. You can set up your browser in such a way that it informs you when cookies are used and to block cookies if necessary. You can block cookies there. If you wish to ensure that none of your data is stored on YouTube, do not click on the embedded videos.

We use the service Wistia to display online videos on our website.  This service is provided by Wistia Inc., 17 Tudor Street, Cambridge, USA. Wistia uses so-called “cookies”, or text files, which are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information on your usage of this website created by the cookie is usually transmitted to servers in the USA.

Online applications

If you submit an application to our company, we will process your personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations based on Section 26 BDSG (German Data Protection Act).  We process the data that you disclose to us in the course of your online application exclusively for the purpose of the selection process. Data is not processed for any other purpose.

You can yourself determine the scope of the data which you want to disclose to us in the course of your online application. Online applications are transferred electronically to our personnel department and processed as quickly as possible. The information is sent in encrypted form. In general, applications are forwarded to the head of the department responsible within our company. Your data is not passed on to third parties. Your information is treated as confidential within our company. If your application is unsuccessful, your documentation will be deleted after 3 months.

We then process your data on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1)(1a) GDPR).

Withdrawal of consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. Until this withdrawal takes place, data processing is permitted by law.
