With the VIAJET 8 and VIAJET 12, FAUN is exhibiting two sweepers intended for tough applications on construction sites.
FAUN – VIAJET 8 sweepers for use on construction sites
Grimma. From 11th to 17th April 2016, the FAUN Group will be presenting two of its POWER class sweepers at the BAUMA Trade Fair in Munich. Both vehicles were specially designed for construction site operations. The smaller representatives from the POWER model range were built on an 18 tonne Mercedes Benz chassis. The sweepers, with a usable volume of 8 m³, are equipped with a 1,500 litre comprehensive primary water tank and a large 700 litre secondary water tank. Both water tanks are produced from non-corrosive, glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP). If desired, the VIAJET 8 can be equipped with an additional GFRP water tank of either 1,200, 1,700 or 2,000 litres. Since this site vehicle is mainly used for carrying milled material, the VIAJET 8 was equipped with the HS2000 hydrostatic drive by FAUN. The machine’s special blower, in combination with a 140 l/min high-pressure water system of up to 200 bar max. ensures a completely dust-free and dry surface. The SC250U surface cleaning system is installed under the rear sweeper and can reach out to up to 150 mm left and right from the vehicle cab. Two FLATJET nozzle bars on the cleaning system ensure clean surfaces on every construction site. To further improve VIAJET 8, attention was paid to the road construction requirements. The focus was mainly on surface cleaning systems offering improved cleaning results. The FAUN Group employs 1,000 people in Europe and generated sales of 275 million euro in 2015. The superstructure manufacturer is Europe’s leading supplier of refuse collection vehicles and road sweepers, with six production sites in five countries.
