SUD - Savety User Display

An easy-to-read display with touchscreen is installed in the operator's area at the rear of the vehicle. The optimum equipment here is the equipment for every workstation.

The display is designed to provide the operator with additional information at their workstation, helping them to carry out their tasks more safely and proactively.

These tasks include:Picking up and transporting waste and recyclable materials to the ASF:

    1. Pick-up and transport of AWB to the ASF
    2. Feeding the ASF with waste and recyclable materials by hand
    3. Feeding the ASF with AWB via a system fill
    4. General operation of the ASF

What functions does the SUD:

  1. Depending on the situation, the display automatically or selected by the operator shows a camera perspective in front of the vehicle (driver's view), the load compartment with compressor and a rear perspective behind the vehicle
  2. In addition, the operator is shown statistical information on his collection tour, information on the ASF and general information, e.g. the current temperature

Camera perspective to the front (driver's view)

  1. As the operator's view to the rear is naturally very restricted, he can only react to traffic situations to a limited extent
  2. With the camera perspective facing forwards, the driver can see what is happening in front of the vehicle. This results in fewer unexpected driving dynamics that could lead to injuries in the worst case.
  3. In addition to the camera view, information on the current speed, brake application and accelerator pedal position is displayed
  4. The view is automatically displayed when the vehicle switches from collective mode to driving mode

Camera perspective into the cargo hold

  1. The operator must and does get an idea of the emptying behaviour of the AWB and the clearing behaviour of the compactor unit as part of the collection process. A camera optimally positioned in the load compartment shows both pieces of information from one perspective. If necessary, lighting is switched on with the camera to illuminate the loading area
  2. The view means that the operator no longer has to stand unnecessarily in the area of the chute and the feed opening to determine whether the emptying process of the AWB has been successfully completed or whether the ratio between the clearing behaviour of the compactor unit and the feed speed of waste or recyclable materials is balanced

Camera perspective into the rear room (rear-view mirror function)

  1. Usually, one or two operators ride between the collection points on the running boards mounted at the rear for this purpose.
  2. In flowing traffic, vehicles regularly approach the ASF and even fall below the required safety distance
  3. When the ASF stops at the next assembly point, the operator leaves his standing position on the running board and orients himself in the direction of his next task
  4. This often leads to dangerous situations with other road users who have not expected the ASF to stop, especially when dismounting from the running board
  5. Shortly before stopping, the camera perspective therefore changes to the rear area to give the operator an overview of this area.
This is to prevent the operator from coming into dangerous contact with other road users when dismounting

Statistical information on the collection tour, information on the ASF and general information

To enhance the workplace and show the operator his performance, the display also shows statistical data on the current activity. In addition to the statistical data on the collection tour, the operator also receives data on the ASF. This is intended to help him, for example, to improve the settings of the ASF or to define additional measures in consultation with the operations management. Information on the outside temperature rounds off the information.

Statistical data:

  1. Number of emptied AWB 2-wheel
  2. Number of emptied AWB 4-wheel
  3. Length of the distance travelled in the collection tour
  4. Outdoor temperature
  5. Number of stops
  6. Operating hours
