For the first time, FAUN presents an emission-free vehicle from large-scale production in cooperation with VOLVO. VOLVO supplies the FE electric, the first battery-electric chassis, and FAUN the electric E-ROTOPRESS. This vehicle celebrated its world premiere in Hamburg on 8 May and will go into service with the Hamburg city cleaning service from autumn 2018. The sales launch in Europe is planned from 2019. The scalable battery capacity is used to drive quietly and emission-free and to power the body. The refuse vehicle will be powered by two electric motors with 370 kW maximum power (260 kW continuous power) and a Volvo two-speed transmission. Lithium-ion batteries are used for energy storage. We are thus heralding emission-free waste disposal for the first time.
