Intelligent assistance on refuse collection trucks

Thanks to its direct connection to the control systems of the entire refuse collection vehicle and the use of high-resolution cameras, the FAUN AI-Cube receives all relevant information in real time. On this basis, the system can not only monitor but also actively manage operations. This supports operators in safety-critical situations and ensures user-friendly operation.

Unnecessary manual intervention is kept to a minimum. This allows operators to focus on their actual work, whilst the FAUN AI-Cube makes intelligent decisions in the background. The range of possible applications is essentially limited only by creativity.

All functions can be used individually or in combination. This ensures that the system remains flexible and scalable, reduces the operational workload and enhances security in the long term.

Safety and feature packages

The following safety and feature packages are currently available:

  • Monitoring of the working area in the immediate vicinity of the loading area and in other hazard zones around the vehicle
  • 360° panoramic view with realistic rendering for comprehensive environmental awareness
  • Automatic person detection in camera images
  • Object detection for identifying relevant structures and obstacles
  • Blind-spot and rear-view lane-change assist
  • Situation assessment for deriving control commands and vehicle responses tailored to requirements
  • Reversing aid
  • An audible warning signal sounds in the cab and a visual message appears on the FCS display – optionally also on the Safety User Display at the rear
  • Depending on the configuration, between 1 and 7 digital cameras provide images that are analysed by the IA-Cube in real time
  • In the event of danger, the FAUN AI-Cube reacts faster than a human ever could
