At FAUN, life hums life
Why are bees so important?
Bees are indispensable for nature and humans. As the most important pollinators, they ensure the diversity and yield of many fruit, vegetable and wild plants - and therefore around a third of our food production. At the same time, they make a decisive contribution to maintaining biodiversity by keeping habitats and food chains in our ecosystems stable. Honey, wax and other bee products are valuable, but their greatest service is invisible: they keep the natural balance alive.
What is the problem?
Bees are among the most important pollinators on our planet - and yet they are increasingly under threat. Their populations have declined sharply in recent decades. This is due to intensive agriculture, the use of pesticides, climate change and, above all, the loss of near-natural habitats. Without bees, not only honey and wax are missing - a large part of our food production is also at stake. Around 80 % of all flowering plants depend on their pollination.
Our contribution
To counteract this trend, we at FAUN started to establish our own bee colonies on our company premises in spring 2025 - creating a protected place where the animals can find food, live undisturbed and make their important contribution to nature. The project team consists of dedicated employees who enthusiastically look after the colonies in their free time. Even if this is only a small contribution to a big problem, we are proud to be part of the solution.
